Most people bet on padel for fun, on small amounts they can afford to lose. For some, gambling stops being fun and becomes a problem. We want padelbets.eu to be a useful resource for the first group — and a clear, fast off-ramp for anyone in the second.

Below: how to stay in control, the warning signs of problem gambling, and the country-specific organisations that can help. Every regulated bookmaker we recommend offers free tools to limit your spending and exclude yourself from gambling. Use them.

The five rules of safer betting

  1. Set a budget before you bet.Decide what you can afford to lose for the month. When it's gone, stop until next month.
  2. Don't chase losses. The single most reliable way to lose more money is to bet bigger to win back what you lost.
  3. Don't bet under the influence. Alcohol, tiredness and emotion all worsen judgement.
  4. Treat any winnings as a bonus.Withdraw a fixed percentage of every winning bet so the run doesn't reset to zero.
  5. Take regular breaks. If you find yourself checking odds compulsively, log out for a week.

Tools your bookmaker is required to offer

Every regulated bookmaker — UKGC, DGOJ, ADM, Spelinspektionen, GGL, KSA, SPA and others — must give you the following free of charge:

  • Deposit limits: Cap how much you can deposit per day, week or month. Increases typically take 24 hours; decreases are immediate.
  • Loss limits: Cap how much you can lose in a given period.
  • Time-out: Lock yourself out of your account temporarily.
  • Self-exclusion: Permanently close your account with the operator. Most jurisdictions also have a national self-exclusion register (GamStop in the UK, RGIAJ in Spain, Spelpaus in Sweden, OASIS in Germany, Conheça-se in Brazil) that blocks ALL licensed operators in that market.
  • Reality checks:Pop-up reminders showing how long you've been logged in.

These tools are usually under "Account" → "Responsible gambling" or similar. They take 60 seconds to set up. Set them before you start betting, not after.

Warning signs of problem gambling

Gambling stops being entertainment when one or more of these become true. The earlier you notice them, the easier it is to course correct.

  • You bet more than you intended to, or more than you can afford.
  • You think about betting when doing other things (work, family, sleep).
  • You hide how much you bet from people close to you.
  • You borrow money or sell things to fund betting.
  • You bet to escape stress, anxiety or low mood.
  • You feel restless or irritable when you try to cut down or stop.
  • You've tried to stop or cut back several times and haven't succeeded.

If two or more apply, talk to one of the organisations below. They are free, confidential, and used to talking to people in exactly this position.
